Battlefield is and should be about team based gameplay whether that be single player with AI or multiplayer with a team of friends. With that in mind it's strange that the campaign of Battlefield 4 does such a terrible job of making you feel like part of a team.

Here we are at the dawn of the next generation of console gaming. While the gaming community is busy salivating at screenshots and videos of what they can expect over the next few months we still have developers absolutely pushing the limits of the current generation to their maximum.

I was a big COD player, but got tired of the same game year after year. I played the BF 4 beta and loved it. Bought this on release day, and have yet to enjoy it. The beta played better. How can EA release this game with all these bugs Apparently there are no testers anymore.

The MP is an absolute joke; Lagging all the time; Constant freezes in which you have to reboot your xbox; Ranking, unlockables and save data get lost regularly; The graphics are not xbox 360 worthy; Can't form squads prior to games.

Battlefield 1942 is still my favorite entry in the Battlefield series. It pretty much blew away my expectations for an FPS game at the time, and even today, it still blows me away at how it was technically possible.

Battlefield 4′s multiplayer is as bombastic as ever, featuring that exceptional mix of infantry tactics, vehicular warfare and big-budget destruction, and the tweaks to the class system and character progression are welcome (but yet to be fully field-tested).

Parents need to know Battlefield 4 is a "Mature"-rated military simulation filled with extreme, realistic violence. Played from a first-person perspective, the single-player campaign and multiplayer modes are designed to make you feel you're right there in the middle of the action.

We live in a time where multiplayer is tacked on to every other new release whether or not it makes sense, is fun, or is even wanted by players, but Battlefield is one of the rare examples of a multiplayer game that doesn't need a single-player mode. It is all about that winning multiplayer formula.

Business as usual with a mediocre single-player campaign and one of the best multiplayer experiences in all gaming – although one severely compromised by playing it on the Xbox 360.

A genre-defining multiplayer experience with some excellent new maps; Commander Mode is an interesting re-addition and the new vehicles (especially the boats) and game modes work well

Campaign mode still feels like a waste of time and resources; Few genuinely new ideas and even those there are make arguably little difference; Noticeable technical issues on the Xbox 360 and a 24-player limit
