What a wonderful time it is to be a gamer when video games can visually compare themselves to what can be found in a movie theater. Battlefield 4 on PlayStation 4 vivaciously delivers on all fronts, and the issues the PlayStation 3 version has are all but gone, leaving the AI the only thing left...

This game has gotten off to a rocky start but the patches have continually improved the experience. The 64-player conquest mode is my favorite and has some of the best multiplayer out of any game. The graphics are also nice to look at and makes you appreciate the extra power of the next gen system.

This game is epic! If you have a 1080p TV, you will fall in love with the Graphics. The light, the reflections, the smoothness of game play. This is the best looking PS4 game I have played. The Multilayer is insanely good. Massive 64 Player on-line battles. Destructible environments.

Business as usual with a mediocre single-player campaign and one of the best multiplayer experiences in all gaming – and at last one that works just as well on consoles as on PC.

A genre-defining multiplayer experience with some excellent new maps; Commander Mode is an interesting re-addition and the new vehicles (especially the boats) and game modes work well

Campaign mode still feels like a waste of time and resources; Few genuinely new ideas and even those there are make arguably little difference; Uneven frame rate in multiplayer

EA has had a lot of trouble recently with launching online games, but it still surprised me that Battlefield 4 had so many problems. On all formats, including PC, gamers have been complaining of crashes, bugs and getting kicked from servers.

The single-player campaign is still intact and although it's had a noticeable face lift; it's still the same stilted mess it's always been.

Battlefield 3 promised gamers that the Call of Duty franchise would soon be pushed off its pedestal that it has grown fondly of and that Battlefield will finally take its place upon it. Now let's all be honest, Battlefield 3 was awesome, but Call of Duty remained on top.

When I reviewed Battlefield 4 on the 360 back in the beginning of November I couldn't help but notice just how far the console was being pushed to deliver gamers their first person shooter fix.

After a lacklustre Call of Duty release this year, is " Battlefield 4 " also a cynical phone-in on the current gen consoles, or are DICE doing their best to deliver a next-gen experience on the aging home consoles?
