Batman: Return to Arkham Review – PlayStation 4

Batman: Return to Arkham is yet another in a long line of remastered titles that attempts to bring PC-quality graphics and performance to the current generation of consoles, and for the most part, Virtous (Final Fantasy X and X2 remasters) have done an impressive job with improved character models,...

Positives + Nice visual improvements + Includes all DLC + Engaging gameplay + Fantastic voice performances + Authentic Batman flavor

Negatives; Fluctuating framerates (partially fixed by playing on PS4 Pro

PS4 Review - 'Batman: Return to Arkham'

Buy Batman: Return to Arkham For a long time, "There's no such thing as a good licensed game" held true. It seemed tough to make a good adaption of almost any popular license, especially superheroes. Exceptions were few and far between.

Batman: Return to Arkham

The Batman: Return to Arkham collection is the video-game equivalent of that old "You Had One Job" meme. For this remaster of two of the Batman: Arkham series's most acclaimed titles, 2009's Batman: Arkham Asylum and 2011's Batman: Arkham City , all that Virtuos had to do was give these games the...

PS4 Review: Batman: Return to Arkham

Return to Arkham contains both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, 2 of the best Batman games ever made…well actually, the best superhero games ever made. Origins didn't make the cut either because WB didn't think it was as good or because the collection only contains games by Rocksteady.

We're pretty used to remasters in this generation. The overall point of a remaster is to bring a classic game forward. To use the power of current hardware to bring out the best in an old favorite. A new coat of paint, some new features, and a nice wrapper to the whole thing.

Though the issues are clearly there when it comes to performance, that doesn't take away from these fantastic games. If you love Batman you owe it to yourself to play this game. Very few games can match this series in terms of both gameplay and story.

Batman: Return to Arkham Review

Batman Returns.

Still the same great combat and movement; All the DLC; Textures have been improved in the environments

Framerate drops; Unreal Engine 4 makes things too light

Bear in mind, that despite the T rating, this is by no means a kids game. However, that being said, there's some great gameplay here and the remaster looks fantastic, especially Arkham City.

Batman: Return to Arkham

Up to a point, this Batman compilation couldn't be easier to recommend. Comprising the first and second games of Rocksteady's Arkham series plus all their DLC, it's a great way to play two of the finest superhero action games ever made.

Two of the best superhero games ever made; Fantastic combat system; Great gadgets; side-missions and puzzles; Made with real love for Batman lore

Disappointing remasters; Odd frame-rate glitches in Arkham Asylum

Batman: Return to Arkham incorporates the two first games in the series from the prior generation of consoles. So with this, you get Arkham Asylum and Arkham City , all with their respective DLC and pre-order bonus content.
