Audioengine B2 Review
So few practical, affordable products are made for those seeking an accurate sound signature boosted bass and highly sculpted mids and highs. It's refreshing to watch Audioengine continue to roll out (relatively) affordable speakers aimed at purists in the age of booming bass. The Audioengine B2 is a $299 (direct) Bluetooth speaker with some serious power and only one real flaw: It can distort on tracks with deep bass at top volumes. It shouldn't happen on a speaker this price, but it's not an across-the-board issue. Most tracks will never distort, and the problem seems to only occur at very high listening levels. If you're looking for a Bluetooth system with thumping bass, this is not the speaker for you, and you should consider the Polk Audio Hampden ( at Amazon) as an alternative. If it's flat response and audiophile sensibilities you're after, read on.
