Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones
Universally loved audio products are rare, but you won't find too many folks with a bad thing to say about the Audio-Technica ATH-M50 headphones (it has around 800 five-star and just nine one-star ratings on Amazon).

Audio Technica ATH-M50 Over-ear Headphones
The ATH -M50s are a middle-of-the-road set of over-ears that offer comfort, decent sound quality and a fairly rugged exterior for a price that won't break the bank. While they aren't going to compete with the high-end studio headphones reviewed in the past, these cans are a decent buy if you want to...

Great set of cans for the price, Audio-Technica's ATH-M50s are a classic.

These headphones are incredible. Fantastic sound quality. The bass response is really, really nice. It's well defined, accurate and strong, but it's not overpowering. The mids and highs are awesome too. Very crisp and I heard things in my music that I haven't heard with my other headphones.

"Great for casual listening/dj'ing, decent for mixing"
These are excellent all around cans, if you can only get one pair for casual listening and mixing in a project studio, these should be considered. They are not very well suited for tracking, because the isolation is surprisingly bad considering how snug they form to your head and ears.

Audio Technica ATH-M50
Most headphones and earphones are designed with some kind of bias to their sound profile. Usually heavy bass, for rockin' tunes. Studio monitor headphones, on the other hand, are careful to reproduce an audio signal exactly as it is supplied by the audio device.
Pros:
- Precise audio reproduction
- Solid construction
- Screw-on 6.3mm adaptor
Cons:
- Can get hot and uncomfortable
- Need to be a fan of ‘flat' sound
