Easy to use

Purchased this to wirelessly connect a new PC to our home router. Plugged in the dongle, powered up the PC and connected to the internet. Didn't even have to install a driver. Quick and easy installation.

Ease of use; price

Haven't found anything yet

I haven't had the chance to use this with a wireless AC router yet, so I can't comment on how fast it can go, but overall it's a solid and simple piece of hardware that does its job well.

Strong & fast wireless connection; simple to use

Doesn't always come back to life properly when resuming from sleep mode

Constant Issues

I can find nothing that has helped on the Asus help/forums.

When the nic is first connected, the speeds are great for the 5GHz; It stops there...

When this device is plugged in, no matter if the port is USB 2.0 or 3.0, the device will either stop working altogether or cause all other USB devices to stop functioning as well; In order for it to work, I have to unplug, then plug in the adapter several times a day.

The Asus USB-AC53 is a USB wireless adaptor that provides significantly higher speeds at range than standard Wi-Fi receivers.

Asus Dual-band Wireless AC1200 USB Adapter (USB-AC53)

Asus' Dual-band AC1200 USB Adapter may be the chicest wireless adapter around. It's got the same diamond-patterned décor as Asus' RT-AC66U Dual Band 3x3 802.11AC Gigabit Router .

Very good throughput in 5GHz mode

Poor performance in 2.4GHz mode; No USB 3.0 support

ASUS USB-AC53 Dual-band Wireless-AC1200 Adapter Review

As more and more devices choose to embrace the latest 802.11ac standard, there is a growing number of PCs and laptop devices where upgrading is not straightforward. Defective and useless after about a month

It loses power and disconnects a few seconds after being plugged in or at best within a few minutes. What a waste of money.

Works as Intended

This WIFI adapter is being used on a desktop computer that is in another room from the access router. This is a much cheaper alternative to running a cable through the ceiling and walls. The adapter works very well for my purposes.

No Mac Support

Not as advertised... (on the box) I should have reviewed the product here first. Only tested on a Mac. My Rating is based on the parts that worked.

If you're looking for an 802.11.ac adapter with Mac Support ignore the print on the box; "Mac Support"

Fast and Furious

Went from 5MB D/L to 30 MB D/L. I had a 150 N PCI adapter that was really slow. I stream movies from my PC to Apple TV and the adapter that I had did not/was not designed for that type of use.

Very fast
