ASUS Transformer Pad TF300 review: A competitively priced Android tablet that doesn't skimp on too many features

The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime is arguably one of the best Android tablets on the market and ASUS has stuck with much of the same formula for its latest release, the Transformer Tab TF300.
Pros:
  • Competitively priced
  • Keyboard dock is a great add-on
  • Good battery life
Cons:
  • Erratic performance/minor software issues
  • Very top-heavy when docked
  • Plastic back feels a little hollow

  • wide viewing angles
  • Decent tablet battery life / High battery life with dock
  • Tegra 3 processor performances
  • Holds its Wi-Fi signal / Good camera
Cons:
  • Physical keyboard is a bit tight and can take some getting used to
  • Some slight slow-downs
  • No extra media player included

Asus Transformer Pad TF300

The new Asus Transformer Pad gives you 95 per cent of the Transformer Prime experience for 80 per cent of the price - with the added bonus of reliable GPS. What you lose is negligible; what you gain - £100 - is not to be sneezed at. Our new best Android tablet? Oh yes.

Asus Transformer Pad TF300

The camera is an 8MP model that produces sharp images, although we noticed an odd haze over some of them. There's lots of storage online, as well as the cloud storage.
Pros:
  • Great detachable keyboard dock
  • clear responsive touchscreen
  • excellent Tegra 3 performance
  • ideal for surfing the net
Cons:
  • Hazy snaps

Pathetic Service

No doubt the price is attractive and is one of the best value tablet in the market, after sales service is pathetic. First quality testing before shipping the products into the market is really poor. Whichever Asus product I bought had some defect in it.

The Asus Transformer Pad 300 has been hotly anticipated since its announcement at MWC 2012, and for good reason. This is the lowest priced quad-core tablet we've seen, which goes big on value, something that's welcomed by double-dip recession hit wallets everywhere.
Pros:
  • Powerful and versatile
  • Seamless docking experience
  • Great for gaming
  • Top value
Cons:
  • Lacklustre screen
  • Noticeable drop in build quality
  • Buggy browser
  • Bouncy keyboard

The design of the Transformer Pad 300 (TF300T) is in essence a cross between the original Asus Eee Pad Transformer (TF101) and the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime (TF201). It has the same shapely curves as the latter but uses a plastic textured shell like the former.

Asus Transformer Pad TF300

With its newest 10-inch tablet , the Transformer Pad TF300 ($379 list 16GB; $399, 32GB), Asus eschews major hardware and design upgrades, opting instead for incremental improvements and a more value-focused remix of an existing tablet.
Cons:
  • Slightly dim screen
  • Android still lacks an abundance of easy-to-find tablet-optimized apps

Review: Asus Transformer Pad (TF300T)

Asus has won us over with its Transformer design of tablets in the past, turning a tablet into a netbook with a 10.1 inch touchscreen slate connecting to a keyboard dock with built-in battery.
Pros:
  • A quad-core processor with a good price
  • Great battery life
Cons:
  • Screen is very glossy
  • Hinge needs to be stronger
  • Keyboard could be firmer
