Blatant lie that it works for a Mac. I bought two, neither one mounts discs thought they do spin up. Most of time the drive itself is not even visible in disk utility. I AM using the correct data and power USB connector. It's also cheaply made, fragile. Not worth the time let alone the money.

If you have a modern PC with no optical drive, yet you have optical media, then this is a must-have! It gets bonus points for having a USB type C cable. It also has a standard USB cable.

My HP PC came with a read only DVD player. So in order to copy DVDs, I researched external HDs and found that this one was fairly well recommended. It is small and lightweight and therefore easily transportable to other location so that I can copy disks at any PC. Fast and quiet.
