It is not often that a game's name feels perfect due to the layers of meaning associated with a word, but for Assassin's Creed Odyssey , it couldn't be better. The first connection is Homer's Odyssey, which is a Greek poem about ancient Greece and here we are in the Peloponnesian War.

Beautiful architecture; Intricate systems work well together; Being a mercenary is freeing; Great voice acting

Slowdown in big cities; Fast travel is more efficient; but you miss Adrestia conversations; Loads before conversation take some getting used to; The fear of missing unmarked historic landmarks

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Review – Greek Repeat

ASSASSIN'S CREED ODYSSEY is a big risk. Not financially - they always seem to be sure money makers - but creatively. While Ubisoft claims the gap between Syndicate and Origins had been planned, that hiatus coincidentally helped stave off the burnout inherent to an annual series.

Fantastic story with memorable; well-animated characters; A huge; wonderfully crafted; colorful rendition of Ancient Greece; Lovely soundtrack that fits the period; Exploration Mode is a great idea that should be improved upon

Combat is mashy and is often forced upon the player; Aggressive level-gating forces that player to grind; Tags

Assassin's Creed Odyssey Review

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a resounding achievement in world building, environment, and engaging gameplay with occasional problems throughout. Its incredible recreation of ancient Greece is something I'll want to go back to long after I've finished its main story, and its excellent systems mesh...

Assassin's Creed Odyssey Review

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is going to be many things, to many people. For me, it's the first time in the series that the hardest difficulty setting -- Nightmare in this case -- has truly taken me to my limits in both execution of skill, patience and in managing frustration.

I was absolutely skeptical but...

I found myself sitting down for eleven (yes, say it with me, eleven) hours just exploring, taking in-game screenshots. Pity about shields, but the array of weapons, buffs, fortresses, and mechanics to take part in, its totally amazing. Boarding is possible in sea-combat, and you might want to turn off level-rounding (or whatever it's called) to remove the hard spike in diffculty – especially when doing army missions and field combat… Story is a bit meh and predictable, so is the combat tree making you feel like an undeserving God, but the culture and history found in side missions is where this game shines. After Origins, I was skeptical as to the direction of Assassins Creed, and I don't say that this is a TRUE assassins creed game, but I do like this direction Ubisoft is taking about 75% of the time. I recommend this for people who are sick, taking time off, or have alot of time on their hands for a single-player experience.
