Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag

An ambitious start for Assassin's Creed on next-gen. The vibrant Caribbean world and bloody piracy shine brightest, while the only sour notes come from contrived series story beats and repetitive missions--both need rethinking for AC5.

Beautiful; vast open world; Edward Kenway is an excellent rogue; Top-notch side-missions

Main missions suffer from repetition; Assassin's Creed lore has devolved to nonsense; Very few actual assassinations

A Swashbuckling Assassin's Adventure

Assassin's Creed has come a long way since it's first faltering steps with Altair. Despite the original game's flawed gameplay, it was easy to see the potential of parkour and sneaking over the rooftops of ancient Jerusalem and Damascus.

Rich, epic, historical action game with very mature themes.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag stands apart from its predecessors in plenty of ways, but none more evident than its focus on sea-based exploration. Building on the terrific sea ship mechanics of Assassin's Creed III , nearly half the game is spent sailing around the Caribbean, exploring small...

Great addition to the AC world

Like other Xbox games it installed easy and was playing with in minutes. The game plays well. No lag or glitches during game play so far making this a pretty solid product. I haven't found anything wrong with the game itself.

Challenging; Fun To Play; Good Audio; Graphics

Great game

Definitely top two for Assassin's Creed games in the franchise. For the price on here and the hours of playing time, can't beat it. If you enjoyed any of the series before you will love this one.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Review | Brilliant Buccaneering

Apologies to those of you who've followed my writing on Assassin's Creed over the last couple of years as I'm going to repeat myself a little bit here, but for those of you coming into this review in need of a little context, here's the beef: Assassin's Creed III was a sprawling, clunky,...

Huge; enormously detailed world; Filled to the brim with things to do; see; kill; and collect; Stealth is back in a big way; Naval sandbox is fantastic; Freeform assassinations YAY; The cohesion and progression make for a truly rewarding experience

Huge; enormously detailed world; Filled to the brim with things to do; see; kill; and collect; Stealth is back in a big way; Naval sandbox is fantastic; Freeform assassinations YAY; The cohesion and progression make for a truly rewarding experience; Combat seems to be worse than before,...

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag PC Review

To say the internet has a big thing for pirates, it's quite amusing that we have never had a fantastic pirate video game. Sure, we have had games that use a theme around piracy, say Skies of Arcadia 's sky pirates or the pirate theme of The Secret of Monkey Island , but there's never been one game...

Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag

As a major fan of the Assassins Creed franchise, I had already fully completed Black Flag on the 360 prior to playing the Xbox One version. Fortunately, it's safe to say that the differences between the current-gen and next-gen versions are practically negligible.
