Assassin's Creed III Review

I've been fighting this war for six long years. I've loyally pledged myself to the Assassins, freeing the world from the machinations of the Templar order. I've traveled through the very fabric of time itself, following Desmond and his Assassin lineage from the Holy Land to Renaissance Italy to...

Engaging story; Beautiful world; Excellent combat system

Story falls flat at the end; A few minor glitches at times

Assassin's Creed III (PS3)

The runaway success of the original Assassin's Creed took me by surprise, but the visuals, setting and basic gameplay conceit was enough to earn itself millions in sales and birth a game franchise to rival the biggest in the industry.

Assassin's Creed III

Ubisoft heads back into the Animus to give us the third chapter in the Assassin's Creed saga. Casting away the suave-talking Ezio, a new hero steps into the cerebral lobe of Desmonds' ancestral dreams.

Love the new setting; American Revolution for the win, New gampleay entries; Tree running and naval battles are pulled off flawlessly, Although filled with melodrama, the narrative is interesting and constantly evolving, Multiplayer still holds our interest, Improved combat that is much more...

Talk about your slow starts, this one is a snooze-fest, Can't sustain the "magical" feeling that came with the first two entries, Not all missions stand-out; At times you're just going through the motions, While involved, the "Homestead" feels superficial

Assassin's Creed III

franchise has been one of the most successful of this generation and this latest game sees a major shift from earlier times to a more "modern" American Civil War setting which offers up some new and unique gameplay. By any definition

Assassin's Creed III (PS3) - Review

Assassin's Creed as a series may have gotten off to a rocky start thanks to the first game's clunky controls and bad AI – not to mention the fact that the pre-release material didn't mention Desmond or the modern setting at all – but the series has grown into its own beast and through five games has...

I enjoyed Connor's story immensely, even if I find him less engaging than Ezio and his plot more hand-holding than Altaïr's. It's a fun ride with ups and downs, but I was expecting a more streamlined experience.

Interesting narrative; great new multiplayer mode; naval combat and Templar forts are both great

Homestead is boring; Connor is not as likeable as Ezio; lack of verticality in environments

Assassins Creed III Review

As the Assassin's Creed franchise grows in scope and ambition, so too do the expectations of its players. Franchises die all the time – a combination of stagnant or complacent design choices mixed with ennui in its playerbase.

Grand storyline Excellent wilderness and open world in general Better activities; more activities

Characters a bit lackluster Buggy at times; not unheard of for an open world game; sadly

Assassin's Creed III review

With its fusion of Matrix-like science-fiction and painstaking attention to historic detail, the Assassin's Creed franchise is one of the most popular game series in some time. Assassin's Creed III brings the trilogy to a close.

Fusion of new zones with familiar city layouts; Fluid and fun combat; Smooth traversal

Bloated features; Pacing problems; Desmond sections fall short

Assassin's Creed III: The revolution will be gripping but glitchy (review)

It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel like jumping through trees and stabbing random Englishmen. Hey, it's not like you'd have a better idea. Fortunately, Assassin's Creed III (releasing today on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Nov. 18 on Wii U, and Nov.

The plot moving Assassin's Creed forward might involve Nostradamus's predicted end-of-days, but its appeal lies in touring history as a highly trained killer; We've been a monk and a swashbuckler, and now we get two new archetypes to play around with - the English gentleman and the angry young...
