Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (Late 2011) Review

While the MacBook Pro 15-inch makes a great workhorse, it's not exactly the most portable notebook around. If you do move around a lot, then you should look at the MacBook Pro 13-inch, which offers the same level of performance (almost) and is the perfect size to slip into your backpack without it...

Apple MacBook Pro 13in

may be setting a new standard at the top of the range, however, this modest update for the standard 13in MacBook Pro looks rather like it's resting on its laurels.

Apple MacBook Pro (13-inch, summer 2009) review Review

Promoting its basic 13-inch, aluminium unibody laptop to the Pro series, Apple has added features while cutting the base price. There are still some features we'd like to see included, but this is one of the most universally useful laptops available
Pros:
  • Adds SD card slot and reacquires FireWire port
  • Solid unibody construction
  • Giant multitouch trackpad
Cons:
  • Non-removable battery
  • No matte screen or discrete graphics options

Review: Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch Notebook

The littlest MacBook Pro finally gets all the features of its larger brethren, making it pound for pound one of the most impressive laptops on the market today. For starters, the aluminum unibody construction is solid to an extreme: There's no wiggle or shimmy when you lift up this laptop.
Pros:
  • Seriously solid unibody design shrunk down to more portable proportions
  • Dazzling performance for a machine this small (just 4.5 pounds)
  • SD card slot
  • Love the backlit keys
Cons:
  • Teensy keyboard, puny arrow keys
  • LCD could be brighter
  • Nonremovable battery doesn't last "all day" as advertised (reality: not quite four hours with a DVD going)

Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch

Apple upgraded its entire range of notebooks with the mid-2012 refresh. Although the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display has grabbed most of the headlines, the entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro shouldn't be overlooked.
Pros:
  • New processors
  • Better integrated graphics
  • Unibody build
  • USB 3.0
  • Excellent screen
Cons:
  • No discrete graphics
  • Limited upgrade options
  • Only a small speed bump
  • Slow hard drives
  • Cheaper model only Core i5

Review: Apple 13in MacBook Pro

The new 13in MacBook Pro is aimed at people who like the look of Apple's other aluminium 'unibody' models, but don't want to lug around a leviathan laptop just to have Mac OS on the move, or pay a premium for the MacBook Air .
Pros:
  • Robust build
  • low weight
  • excellent battery life
Cons:
  • No matte screen option
  • fixed battery may restrict some people

Apple MacBook Pro 13in (2011) review

A very desirable laptop, but it's too expensive for most consumers and not highly-specified enough for multimedia work on the go.
