Antec P280 Review: When Enthusiasts Are Engineers

It was probably unreasonable to expect better thermals out of the Antec P280. The enclosure isn't a homerun, at least not in its stock configuration, but it's most definitely a strong base hit.

Antec Performance One P280 Midtower Case Review

No matter the age or skill level there is a handful of brand names that any user that has built a system will know. Fairly high on that list, if not top, would be Antec . Antec has been making cases since 1986 and since has had several cases that are very popular, like the Gaming series Ninehundred.

Antec P280 Performance One PC Case

And with that being said today we will be talking a long hard look at the newest member to the family, the P280. The new P280 retains some of the sleek designs we come to love in the older models but once you really get inside the case you can see the many differences in them.

Antec P280 Performance One Case

The P280 supports boards up to the XL-ATX form factor thanks to the large size and 9 expansion slots. For this installation we used the ASUS Maximus IV Extreme motherboard. This P67 motherboard had no trouble fitting into the case with room to spare (and the color scheme looks pretty good in there...

XL-ATX support; 9 expansion slots; Noise dampening surfaces; Lots of internal space; Double hinged door

Left hinged door; Heavy for its class

Slightly underwhelmed

I purchased this case as it met all my requirements and several online reviewers also confirmed what I was after. The case itself it great to build with. Lot's of room and reasonably high quality build as you'd expect from Antec. However, the front ports are not up to the job.

Antec P280 Review

We're in two minds when it comes to the Antec P280. On one hand, it's a wonderful case to build a system into, with the superb build quality we've come to expect from Antec. There are plenty of excellent design decisions on display, from the pair of externally removable dust filters to the return of...
