Sonic Mania is a brilliant return to form for the series' long-time away from traditional 2D games. Even if a few less remixed stages and more new zones would have been a nice change of pace, Sonic Mania's joyful level of ingenuity even in reimagining familiar sights is a testament to some of the...

Agents of Mayhem Review – A Case of Explosive Repetition

Volition Entertainment put a time-bending end to the Saints Row Franchise the last time we saw a game from them, so expectations were high for the storied studio's first post- Saints adventure. Enter Agents of Mayhem , a homage to campy action hero cartoons of the 80s and 90s.

Agents are the right mix of goofy and fun; Switching between Agents at will; GI Joe aesthetic works big time; Animated cutscenes are beautiful

Repetitive missions drag the game down; Missed potential with Agents themselves; Open world; but no reason to see it; Glitches galore; mostly in the background

PlayStation 4 Review: ‘Agents of Mayhem'

Agents of Mayhem is a story-driven open-world game that combines the super-soldier team concepts of G.I. Joe with the hero mechanics of games like Overwatch and Battleborn resulting in a game that is ludicrous in a satisfying way and fun to progress through despite some flaws.

Agents of Mayhem

Volition's Agents of Mayhem ostensibly takes place in the Saints Row universe, but aside from this game's logo, appearances by Oleg and Pierce Washington, and an abundance of the color purple, one would be forgiven for not even noticing or caring about the connection.

Absurd Explosive Fun

In many ways, Agents of Mayhem feels like a child smashing action figures together and making explosion sound effects. On one hand (the one holding the bad guy), the game is a shallow rumination on good versus evil.

Agents of Mayhem Review

Start wearing purple.

Fun; diverse characters; Shooting is slick and enjoyable; Genuinely funny

Not much mission variety in the campaign; Story is nothing special; Occasional frame rate issues

Agents of Mayhem Review – Run and Gun Fun

At first glance, the vibrantly spirited heroes and villains of Agents of Mayhem could be mistaken for characters that have been ripped straight out of a Saturday morning cartoon. That is, until they open up their mouths to reveal they're as proficient with profanity as they are with combat.
