Acer Iconia W510 review: as Acer enters the Windows 8 era, it returns to its netbook roots
The W510 is a relatively inexpensive hybrid offering best-in-class battery life. Still, its cramped, netbook-like keyboard could be a dealbreaker.
Pros:
- Long battery life
- Inexpensive for a full Windows 8 system
- IPS display offers good viewing angles
Cons:
- Cramped
- ugly keyboard dock

Acer Iconia W510
Don't let the Acer Iconia W510 and its hearty hinge confuse you. It's a tablet, not one of those convertible laptops you've been seeing lately. It may transform into three different modes, but it's a Windows 8 slate with a keyboard dock, pure and simple.
Pros:
- Great battery life
- Sturdy hinge
- Super portable
- The full compatibility of Windows 8
Cons:
- Cramped
- shallow keyboard
- Few full size ports
- Overpriced
- Underpowered
- Top heavy
