Frustrated
I was maybe thinking that cold weather affected the touchpad, but even use in places where the unit has been acclimated, makes no difference, the trackpad still does not function consistently. I could leave the device at home, warn n cozy, and it still misbehaves.
Pros:
- This device is very neat
- maybe a lil slow
- but that's cause i haven't used anything but my desktop for a while.
Cons:
- I really only have one complaint
- The whole system is balanced b/w power and function, no complaints there
- I just have an incredibly hard time making the touchpad on the attachment to work properly.

Not a bad tablet, but not a Windows Surface
I purchased this tablet because I needed something portable with windows so that I could get work done without necessarily having to be in the office. It's a decent tablet for the most part but I also have a Microsoft Surface RT tablet which is way better in my opinion.
Pros:
- Very light
- decent design overall
Cons:
- Doesn't come with Microsoft Office
- slow to download or update anything

Acer Iconia W510
Taking a cue from Samsung, Acer has released this hybrid tablet/laptop. The Intel Atom Z2760-powered Iconia W510 has a 10.1-inch display with 1366 x 768 resolution that detaches from the keyboard to become a touchscreen tablet.
Pros:
- Battery life: 9 hours as a tablet
- 18 hours as a laptop
- Completely silent
- Overall responsiveness
- Expandable memory (microSD
Cons:
- Very little processing power (CPU and GPU
- Has trouble deporting image to peripheral displays
- Little connectivity
- Audio in need of revision

Acer Iconia W510
Has Acer nailed the Windows 8 hybrid-tablet conundrum? The 10.1in Acer W510 might not be the most premium looking device, but it's portable, and comes with a detachable keyboard.
Pros:
- Full Windows 8
- Keyboard dock included
- Good combined battery life
Cons:
- Unintuitive OS
- So-so AV quality

The Acer Iconia W510, though a decent machine, is powered by a dying line of processors and is not quite suitable priced for its specifications. There are better options available in the market in terms of design and build in much the same pric e range.

review and overall impressions
so i've had this tablet for quite a few months now and have been putting it through its paces and here are my thoughts... I initially bought this for its form factor i.e. having a full blown OS that is portable.

Acer Iconia W510 review
Acer's Iconia W510 works just fine as a standalone Windows 8 tablet, but comes with a slimline keyboard with secure docking system for those times when you need a bit more -- and that's where the problems start. It's on sale now for around £500.
Pros:
- Lightweight
- decent price
- solid docking hinge
- good battery life
Cons:
- Slow processor
- doesn't balance very well in dock

Acer Iconia W510
Don't let the Acer Iconia W510 and its hearty hinge confuse you. It's a tablet, not one of those convertible laptops you've been seeing lately. It may transform into three different modes, but it's a Windows 8 slate with a keyboard dock, pure and simple.
Pros:
- Great battery life
- Sturdy hinge
- Super portable
- The full compatibility of Windows 8
Cons:
- Cramped
- shallow keyboard
- Few full size ports
- Overpriced
- Underpowered
- Top heavy

Portable, But Not That Potent
If you want to compete with the iPad, you better look, feel, and weigh like the iPad. That was the clear idea behind the Microsoft Surface , and that's where we're headed with the third-party Windows slates that are beginning to arrive on the market.
Pros:
- Stays cool under fire
- Runs forever compared to Core i5 machines
- Nice fit and finish.
Cons:
- Performance is beastly
- General stability issues
- Difficult to justify the purchase price

:(
I loved it when I first started to use it. But then trying out some of the features was a disappointment. The keyboard after not using it for very long, no longer is available to use unless you take the tablet off of it and plug it back into the keyboard, then sometimes it works.
