Not a bad tablet, but not a Windows Surface
I purchased this tablet because I needed something portable with windows so that I could get work done without necessarily having to be in the office. It's a decent tablet for the most part but I also have a Microsoft Surface RT tablet which is way better in my opinion.
Pros:
- Very light
- decent design overall
Cons:
- Doesn't come with Microsoft Office
- slow to download or update anything

- 18 hours as a laptop
- Completely silent
- Overall responsiveness
- Expandable memory (microSD
Cons:
- Very little processing power (CPU and GPU
- Has trouble deporting image to peripheral displays
- Little connectivity

Acer Iconia W510
Has Acer nailed the Windows 8 hybrid-tablet conundrum? The 10.1in Acer W510 might not be the most premium looking device, but it's portable, and comes with a detachable keyboard.
Pros:
- Full Windows 8
- Keyboard dock included
- Good combined battery life
Cons:
- Unintuitive OS
- So-so AV quality

The Acer Iconia W510, though a decent machine, is powered by a dying line of processors and is not quite suitable priced for its specifications. There are better options available in the market in terms of design and build in much the same pric e range.

review and overall impressions
so i've had this tablet for quite a few months now and have been putting it through its paces and here are my thoughts... I initially bought this for its form factor i.e. having a full blown OS that is portable.

Acer's Iconia W510 works just fine as a standalone Windows 8 tablet, but comes with a slimline keyboard with secure docking system for those times when you need a bit more -- and that's where the problems start. It's on sale now for around £500.
Pros:
- Lightweight
- decent price
- solid docking hinge
- good battery life
Cons:
- Slow processor
- doesn't balance very well in dock

Acer's sub-$1000 tablet notebook hybrid reviewed
Netbooks might have gone away, but Acer is attempting to bring back those small laptops in a different way, joining the hybrid game that Asus practically pioneered with the Transformer and giving it a few spins of its own.
Pros:
- A surprisingly fast portable computer
- Plenty of ports
- 3G option available
- Great battery life for a Windows 8 machine
Cons:
- You can lose characters while typing
- No gestures on the trackpad
- While the hinge is strong
- the space inside the hinge isn't tight enough to stabilise the tablet
- Screen topples over easily
