Acer Iconia B1-A71 review
Most cut-price tablets come from small manufacturers, and often lack key features like access to Google Play, or have disappointingly poor screens or performance. The Acer Iconia B1-A71 will cost just £99 in the UK when it launches in a week or two, but despite the price it avoids the worst of the...

Acer B1-A71 pictures and hands-on
The Acer Iconia B1 is really very affordable. We were told it will retail for £99 in the UK, and that makes it just about the best value for money in the tablet space. The B1 comes with Jelly Bean, the latest version of Android, which is something worth shouting about , especially given the price.

Three 7-inch tablets: Acer, ASUS and Prestigio
Smaller tablets initially weren't always taken serious. Frequently they were cheaper models with not the most powerful specs. Samsung's first Galaxy Tab was an exception to this, and two years later the Nexus 7 proved that a quality tablet no longer needs to be expensive with a sticker price of 249...

Over the past 12 months we have seen the launch of quite a few budget tablets in India, and most of them, were made by companies such as Micromax, Spice, Karbonn, iberry, Zync and others. We haven't seen any big international names try to gain a market share in this category.

- Good touch response
- Android 4.1.2
- MicroUSB charging
Cons:

Review Acer Iconia B1-A71 Tablet
Kudos to Acer! It was clear right from outset of this review that the Acer Iconia B1 was not fighting for a crown in the tablet market. Nevertheless, we had very high expectations for the first "low-budget" tablet from a brand manufacturer. And Acer did not let us down.
Pros:
- Low weight
- Appropriate performance
- Decent battery life
- Unrivaled price
- The budget tablet with relatively few compromises
Cons:
- Unstable casing, Simple materials, Mediocre brightness, Uneven illumination, The tablet could have better build quality
- The screen could be better and the camera could have been omitted instead of offering something like the one on the B1

Very good for it's price! A real bargain. Snappy, responsive. Very good touch screen, the latest Android version you can get if you are not looking at getting Google Nexus. Screen is very good, too, but not as good as as iPad. I used to own iPad and sold it a year ago, it's too big.
