"Acer A500 - Fantastic product"
I'd been toying with the idea of buying a tablet PC for some time, as my old laptop had seen better days. I'd spent hours playing with ipads and various other tablets before I came across the Acer A500. My initial thought was that an Acer product would be inferior to other "Name Brands".
Pros:
- ease of use
- look & feel
- speed
- durability
Cons:
- video playback not the best

The Android Honeycomb defeatists have already declared the Xoom a flop . While this might be true in financial circles, where savvy investors are looking for the companies that offer the best combination of high margins, and willing hordes of zombie like consumers foaming at the mouth for the latest...

Acer Iconia Tab A500
At the current prices, we reckon the Motorola Xoom has the edge on the Acer Iconia Tab A500. The Xoom costs about £30 more, but you'll get a sleeker-looking, lighter and slightly smaller tablet.
Pros:
- Fast and fun to use
- great Web browser with Flash support
- USB port makes syncing easy
- slightly cheaper than the Xoom
Cons:
- Good Honeycomb apps and widgets are currently hard to find
- plastic case looks fairly cheap
- heavier and larger than the Xoom

ACER Iconia Tab A500 Review
Welcome to the newest Android tablet on the block, Acer's Iconia Tab A500. This is an Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet, that being a version of the Google mobile operating system made specifically for tablets, and it's got a big fat 10.1-inch screen.

Acer Iconia Tab A500 Review
The Android tablet wars are starting to heat up, and Acer has entered the fray with its Iconia Tab A500. Priced at $449--$50 lower than the iPad 2 --this slickly designed 10.1-inch Honeycomb slate features a brushed-metal design and a full-size USB port, plus Nvidia's powerful Tegra 2 processor.

In all, our impressions of the Iconia A500 are mixed. It feels a little slicker than the Motorola Xoom in use, and there are some useful bits of software included. It's nicely designed too, with cameras that do a passable job of shooting the odd picture and video clip.
