Acer Iconia Tab A500 – a nice looking Android tablet with a very attractive price tag
The Iconia Tab A500 has already been released in Europe and Asia and is coming to the US Verizon network by the end of June – if you want an affordable Android tablet that looks great, is durable and has uncompromised performance, this device might be perfect for you.

Acer Iconia Tab A500 Review
The Acer Iconia Tab A500 has good underlying software coupled with decent hardware. But we think the display can be improved. If not an IPS panel, the least Acer can do is get rid of the blue cast.
Pros:
- Great feature set
- connectivity options
- Good
- capable UI
Cons:
- Steep learning curve of UI
- Bluish cast to screen

Acer Iconia Tab A500 10in Android tablet
Acer has produced a fine product with the Iconia Tab A500. Its performance closely matches that of the Motorola Xoom but it is lighter, offers more connectivity and has a working microSD slot to expand the storage capacity.

Flimsy and overpriced
The Iconia Tab is a wonderful device that is solidly built. It's too bad that Acer didn't find it worthwhile to give the same treatment to their case. While it does what it says, protect the screen and device, the case falls short on quality and affordability.
Pros:
- Nice fit
Cons:
- Flimsy construction
- Overpriced
- Weak velcro closure

Review Acer Iconia Tab A500 Tablet/MID
Acer's Iconia Tab A500 is a solidly put together tablet, which considering its weight, adopted materials, and appearance, offers good basic features . The battery life is good, and will last between 3 and 6 hours in practice depending on the type of use.
Pros:
- Quiet operation
- Bright high contrast display
- Good case quality
- HDMI
- Docking station
- Relatively good battery life
- Good display
- and a well balanced package for a relatively affordable price
Cons:
- Reflective display surface
- (up until now no UMTS available
- Too small distance between USB ports
- Micro connectors require special cable
- MicroSD card slot difficult to reach
- A non-reflective display surface
- 3G modem (should no longer be the case in future models)
- and more separation between USB...

A solid and capable Android tablet, but lacks a stand out feature to make it a must buy

Acer Iconia Tab A500 review
In the contest to replace your laptop – and maybe even your TV – Android 3.0 tablets such as the Motorola Xoom are ganging up on the Apple iPad 2 by sheer quantity. We absolutely thrilled over the Asus Eee Pad Transformer , for example. Now it's time for the Acer Iconia Tab A500's day in the sun.
