The screen is very responsive and Android 3 is a pleasure to use. Nvidia has added an app store for games, but Acer's bundled apps are a little uninspiring. SocialJogger brings Facebook and Twitter feeds together, and Photo Browser 3D lets you flick through images using the tablet's motion sensors.

Android Tablet Review: Acer Iconia Tab A500
For me it is a toss-up between this and an ASUS on which to get. They are both nice (I have yet to review an Asus, my opinion could change). They both have a good price and have received updates, since I have reviewed this one I can definitely recommend it to anyone that asks and have before, even...

Acer Iconia Tab A500 Review
Google's Android Honeycomb OS was the talk of the town as the calendar rolled over to 2011. Billed as Android's first true tablet OS, most got their first look at Honeycomb during CES where it was loaded on the Motorola Xoom.

Ice cream sandwich is great on the A500
So a week ago I got an Acer A500 cuz I heard it was getting the 4.0 upgrade and so far its exceeded all my expectations. Right out of the box it was actually quite fast and responsive but I quickly upgraded it to 3.2 and it was much smoother.
Pros:
- android 4.0 , full size usb 2.0 and micro sd card slot
- micro hdmi out.
Cons:
- its not quad core
- not tegra 3

Great tablet for price
This tablet is great for the amount of money you pay. It has a Dual Core Tegra 2 processor that makes it one of the fastest tablets available (although slower than the iPad 2). This tablet can run graphically intense games, such as Dungeon Defenders, with no lag at all.

Acer Iconia A500
While Apple's iOS is found on a solitary phone, Android can be found on tons of devices – so it's perhaps no surprise to see the same strategy in the tablet marketplace.

Technoodling reviews the Acer Iconia Tab A500: A good first effort
Android tablets are a dime a dozen these days; a wide range of manufacturers from all over, such as HTC and Samsung, are either readying their own or have one or more out already. That's a lot of jostling for attention – moreover, it's taking place at a time when Apple's iPad is currently ruling the...
Pros:
- The Acer Iconia Tab A500′s responsive screen
- The USB and HDMI ports and microSD slot (take that
- iPad
- Its excellent value for money
Cons:
- The Acer Iconia Tab A500 is a bit on the hefty side
- There aren't a whole lot of Honeycomb-specific apps just yet
- Battery life and camera performance are a few clicks behind the best

Amazing for travelling
I took this tablet with me on a 4 week 4x4 trip from Melbourne to Cape York and back, and the tablet has shown to be really really useful and basically brilliant on the trip

Acer's Tablet Is Fast and Stable, But Not All That Special
Acer's offering is plain vanilla-unspectacular but reliable. Hardware-wise, other than a jumbo 10.1-inch screen, it differs little from other high-end Android tablets: HDMI-out, front- and rear-facing cameras, and a drab exterior that doesn't offend but won't set design nerds' pulses racing.
Pros:
- Priced aggressively for top-shelf hardware
- As precise and dependable as a Swiss clock
Cons:
- Tinny rear-facing speakers destroy music
- Massive: Snapping pictures with this thing feels like shielding yourself with a cafeteria tray in a food fight

if you can control the urge to use the A500 when first purchased...charge the battery completely before turning it on. I get about 10 to 11 hours of batterly life on each charge. get a tight fitting case to protect the A500. super antenna for the WIFI..
Pros:
- great battery life if charged properly when first purchased
- great screen quality
- great video quality
Cons:
- none so far after 2 months of ownership
