Flimsy and overpriced
The Iconia Tab is a wonderful device that is solidly built. It's too bad that Acer didn't find it worthwhile to give the same treatment to their case. While it does what it says, protect the screen and device, the case falls short on quality and affordability.
Pros:
- Nice fit
Cons:
- Flimsy construction
- Overpriced
- Weak velcro closure

Acer Iconia Tab A500
At the current prices, we reckon the Motorola Xoom has the edge on the Acer Iconia Tab A500. The Xoom costs about £30 more, but you'll get a sleeker-looking, lighter and slightly smaller tablet.
Pros:
- Fast and fun to use
- great Web browser with Flash support
- USB port makes syncing easy
- slightly cheaper than the Xoom
Cons:
- Good Honeycomb apps and widgets are currently hard to find
- plastic case looks fairly cheap
- heavier and larger than the Xoom

Acer Iconia Tab A500 review: Chubby chassis will have you longing for iPad
At more than fifty quid over the Asus Eee Pad Transformer, we can't help but feel that the Acer Iconia Tab A500 is something of a raw deal. It's far too heavy and lacks the killer keyboard integration.
Pros:
- Great screen and sound
Cons:
- The chunkiest slate yet

One of the key things about the Acer Iconia Tab that differentiates it from other Android tablets on the market is the inclusion of the aforementioned full-sized USB port; the other being the 970g of (almost 1 kilo!) weight.

"REVIEW: Acer Is Not An Apple & Its Iconia A500 Tablet Reveals Why"
When JT Wang, Acer's chairman and temporary CEO stood up recently and said that he wanted the Taiwanese Company to be ?more like Apple? and that Acer was a serious competitor in the tablet market I decided to take a look at the new Acer A500 Iconia tablet to see how close the device came to the iPad...
Pros:
- On the looks and efficiency front it is as good as any other Android tablet out there
Cons:
- Acer's A500 Iconia Tablet has a long way to go before it is on a level footing with the Motorola Xoom or the Toshiba Honeycomb Tablet.
