Not Completely Sold Yet

This is my first tablet after years of using laptops. First, I must say this "refurbished" Iconia tab looked brand new right out of the box. I have an Android smartphone that I rooted and installed a custom ROM, so that was the first thing I did with the Acer.
Pros:
  • bright screen
  • battery life
  • value for money
Cons:
  • Preloaded Programs
  • Size & Weight
  • some android apps

Good fun product, so far no bad points.

I'm having a great time with this product, I bought it mainly to enable to read books, which I've managed to do very successfully, but the fact that I can have a bit of quiet music in the background makes it so much more enjoyable.

It's an antique!

This tablet is now 7 years old and the OS is 7 years old. A friend who doesn't understand that bought it and couldn't understand why she had so much trouble with it. Shame on retailers who still sell this.

Acer Iconia 10 inch Tablet

Acer is a computer maker and now making tablets. Ever since the iPad was introduced, computer makers started to make tablets. I've used and experienced with a few of these tablets. The Acer Iconia is one of the better built tablets. For one thing, the Acer Iconia is much better than the Playbook.

Acer Iconia Tab A500 review: Acer Iconia Tab A500

Acer's Iconia Tab offers the features of the Motorola Xoom at iPad-beating prices but weighs in as the heftiest Android tablet yet.
Pros:
  • The Acer Iconia Tab offers Android Honeycomb (upgradable to Android 4.0) on a 10.1-inch screen along with GPS, front and rear cameras, Adobe Flash compatibility, full-size USB host port, HDMI output, and a reasonable price.
Cons:
  • The Iconia Tab is thick, and one of the heaviest consumer tablets we've seen. Some locally stored HD video files wouldn't play properly.

Acer Iconia A500

Looks can be deceiving, and although your tablet choices may seem to be down to Apple or Samsung, there are many more options to consider. Acer's first Android tablet effort is cautious but assured, the hardware feels solid, it's feature-packed and, most importantly, its performance is comparable...
Pros:
  • Solid performance
  • Loads of connectivity options including USB and HDMI
Cons:
  • Too heavy to hold for long periods
  • Glossy screen is hard to read outdoors
  • Average battery life
