Reviewed: Acer Iconia A500 tablet
Over the past few months, we've bene cautiously optimistic about Android tablets, generally saying that while we didn't mind them, we were definitely waiting for Honeycomb (Android 3.0) to arrive before we got too excited.

Best of the best atm.
First off, this tab DOES support Netflix (although I don't use it, but a 10 second Google search will show you how).It can be overclocked to 1.6 ghz and 1.7 ghz very soon via flashing a new rom.It is slightly heavier than other tabs in its class but it has an aluminum shell.

Acer Iconia Tab A500
The Acer Iconia Tab A500 is Acer's 10.1-inch Android tablet - as designated by the "A" in it's product name, unlike the "W" of the W500 tablet that we reviewed previously. At 10.1-inches it faces a number of Honeycomb rivals such as the Asus Eee Pad (Transformer), the Motorola Xoom and the Samsung...
Pros:
- USB
- HDMI
- working microSD slot
- Honeycomb hasn't been too badly interfered with
Cons:
- Acer's software additions are largely dismissible and bring little value
- design is rather clunky
- size
- short power lead
- poor video support out of the box

Acer ICONIA Tab A500 Android Tablet
We had a brief hands-on with Acer's ICONIA Tab A500 back in May, when they announced it in India. We returned from the conference quite pleased with what we saw. Finally! A worthy competitor to the almighty iPad – we thought.

Iconia Tab A500
Last month, the Motorola Xoom was the only officially sanctioned Android 3.0 tablet available in the United States. Now there are four -- the T-Mobile G-Slate arrived last week, the Acer Iconia Tab A500 this week, and the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer is on sale today, assuming you can find one.
Pros:
- Surprisingly good LCD screen and speakers
- Speedy Tegra 2 chip
- Full-size USB port for expanded connectivity
Cons:
- Sub-par battery life
- Poor cameras and minor build issues
- Very little native software available

computer and phone manufacturer now makes tablets in the hope of grabbing some of the scraps of market share Apple doesn't hold with the iPad. Acer has a couple of tablet offerings, but its headline act is the Iconia Tab A500, a 10,1-inch Android-powered monster with innards that compare well to...

My first tablet
I wasn't sure about tablets when I bought this but I think this is a good one. If you're used to using an android mobile phone, then this is not much different, except for the size. What I like : Borders around the edge of the screen give you something to grip without touching the screen.

Acer Iconia Tab A500 review
Acer's Iconia Tab A500 was just one among many contenders to Apple's tablet crown at Mobile World Congress back in January . Some, such as the much-hyped Motorola Xoom, failed to impress, and even the excellent Asus Eee pad Transformer couldn't manage to topple the mighty Apple iPad 2 .
