Acer C120 Review
This projector is less versatile than many we looked at but the image quality is very bright and crisp.- This unit is tiny and weighs almost nothing
- In terms of connections it offers only one
- a USB port
Acer C120 Projector
Manufacturers of micro-projectors have the tendency to, now more than ever, choke their creations with a lot of connectivity options. Especially when these devices have a really small body. Thankfully, Acer did not make the same wrong move.
Acer Pico C120 review
It's not the best or the brightest, but when it comes to portable projectors on a budget, Acer has got it nailed. Achieving around 100 Lumens of brightness, this tiny micro projector – one that gets all of its power from the USB ports of a connected laptop – is the darling of the portable Powerpoint...
Acer C120 Projector Review
The Acer C120 Projector is bright for a pico projector, especially a USB model, but it lacks the connectivity choices prevalent in current pocket projectors. While most micro-projector makers these days are trying to fit as many ports for different connectivity sources as possible into their products' tiny frames, Acer took the opposite tack with its C120 Projector ($299.99 list). This pico projector connects via USBand USB aloneto a computer, emulating whatever's on your computer screen. In that respect it resembles some budget projectors we've seen such as the 15-lumen Ray Lite ($159 direct, 3 stars), but the Acer is considerably brighter and easier to set up (though not necessarily to run). The C120 is an LED-based DLP projector with a native WVGA resolution (854 by 480). Its rated brightness is 100 lumens, which puts it among the pocket projector elite. The only other 100-lumen pico projector we've reviewed is the Optoma Pico PK320 Pocket Projector ($450 street, 3 stars). The C120 is a handsome little projector, black (glossy on top) and rectangular with rounded corners. It fits in my pants pocket, but just barely. I weighed...- Small and highly portable
- Bright for a pico projector, and for its price
- Can be powered from your computer over its USB connection
- USB connectivity only
Not good
The product is poorly made. The install CD always has to be in the drive for it to work and even then, it doesn't always work. There is no options as it says there should be for control. It would keep turning off, never stayed on.
Acer C120 Projector
This is a great little projector for the price. I am using it in my classroom regularly. I don't have safe storage, so it's very nice to be able to pack the little guy up and put it in my book bag to carry away. It has great brightness and projection quality.
wouldn't work on my laptops or tower
It also put virus' on another laptop that I tried to use.- wouldn't work
- no support
" Not for professional use" - Le_Chamois
Pico USB projector. Use only in a dark room (100 ANSI lumens). Advantages: Low power consumption and small footprint. His biggest flaw in my eyes: Copy the main office computer. I am not come to set up as a second display with extended desktop.
Acer C120 LED DLP Projector
Small and simple, the Acer C120 LED DLP projector is a no-frills device that, while lacking some of the features of its competition, costs half as much. This projector, which can be found for as little as $229 at Amazon, can be powered by USB alone and has the barest of controls.- Inexpensive
- Simple to use
- Doesn't require external power plug
- No in-projector menus or anti-keystoning feature
- Small foot
- Loud fan
Review: Acer C120 Pico Projector
This projector can do one thing: project the screen of a USB-connected Windows PC. It does that job well, and it's inexpensive.- Extremely light and portable
- As bright as any current pico projector,
- Can project only what's on the display of a USB-connected Windows PC
- Tricky to set
