Acer Aspire V17 Nitro

3.5
Verdict: Still, there are some small sacrifices, including a less-capable webcam and non-customizable keyboard lights, as well as the fact that you won't be able to play games comfortably on an external 4K monitor.
Pros: Built-in eye tracking. Sturdy keyboard
Cons: Flimsy, small touchpad. Matte screen dulls colors and blurs some windows

Acer Aspire V Nitro 7-791G Notebook Review

4.0
Verdict: As in our previous test, Acer's Aspire V 17 Nitro is impressive, and proved to be a solid notebook in all aspects for 1370 Euros (~$1540). Compared with the predecessor, the important changes are the CPU with higher clock, and the new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M .
Pros: Low waste heat, Still very good input devices, Matte IPS panel, Better contrast than its predecessor, Good gaming performance
Cons: Fan gets loud early, Stability of the big case, Partly difficult to maintain

Acer Aspire V Nitro Black Edition VN7-791G

4.0
Verdict: The Acer Aspire V Nitro Black Edition VN7-791G is, according to Acer's own blurb, the apex of the Aspire V Nitro line. What that means in reality is it's a premium, large but slim, 17in laptop that can serve both as a modest gaming machine and a workstation, much like Apple's 17in MacBook Pro line...
Pros: Smart design suits home and office, Packed with features including Intel RealSense, Excellent quality screen and good sound quality, Powerful machine also suitable for gaming
Cons: RealSense not that useful yet, Battery life struggles to reach four hours, Screen resolution only 1080p, Can get slightly better gaming performance for the money

Was great while it worked.

3.0
Verdict: While everything worked it was an amazing laptop; however, it's one major problem proved to be its undoing. Out of the blue, it died. No fans, no lights, power button not working. The worst part is it happened during the night with nothing other than a web browser open.

Excellent so far....

4.0
Verdict: I bought this machine mainly for video editing and for some graphic design stuff. I liked the nVidia card and the other specs of the machine, and thought it would work well for what I wanted. I was worried about the Acer name at first, but I think I made the right choice.
Pros: IPS Display is awesome, bright and crisp
Cons: Holds fingerprints easily (on keys and pad

Really nice notebook but Unfit for Purpose

4.0
Verdict: This is a a really nice notebook. Swish design. Really nice looking. Performs reasonably well. So why only one star Although you get a two gig hdd for your data, the 60Gb SSD is totally pointless.
