Acer's Aspire S7 gets a fourth-gen Intel Core i7 CPU and more built-in ports, but it has a couple of issues
Acer's Aspire S7 (the 391 model) was introduced last year to quite a few ‘oohs' and ‘ahs', mainly because it was a thin and light little thing with an attractive design. This year's Aspire S7-392 looks just like the old one, but it has a few significant differences in its configuration.
Pros:
- Looks good and feels good overall
- Long battery life
- Very good screen
Cons:
- Keyboard could be better
- Touchpad clicked whenever we picked up the unit
- Power button location
- No accelerometer

Acer Aspire S7
One of the best new ultrabook models we've seen, the Acer Aspire S7, may be one of the products that could save Microsoft's latest operating system, Windows 8 . While Windows 8 received mixed reviews the fact remains that the best way to experience the OS is with a machine that was designed to take...
Pros:
- Good performance
- Excellent battery life
- High-res touch screen display
- Light and sleek
- Well designed
- Intel Core i7 processor
Cons:

Acer Aspire S7 (13.3 inch)
The 13.3-inch version of Acer's Aspire S7 laptop is gorgeous. There are a few minor niggles, it's expensive and battery life isn't the best, but despite all this, this is one of the better Windows 8 solutions out there at this point in time. Let's hope Acer finds a way to bring the cost down.
Pros:
- Beautiful design
- Monitor increases resistance as you open it further
- minimising screen wobble from touching
- Full HD IPS screen
- Dual SSDs in RAID 0 bring plenty of speed
Cons:
- Expensive
- Battery life could be better
- Backlit keyboard makes the keys harder to read in half-light
- Can get loud under load

Acer S7-391 review: a serious edge for Windows 8
Acer isn't kidding when they describe the $1699, S7-391 ultraportable as cutting edge. This Windows 8 laptop is so thin (11.9 mm) and stiff, it could...

Microsoft and hardware partner Acer are hoping to usher in a brave new world of touch-control Windows computing. An interesting part of that strategy is the touch-screen laptop, and the Acer Aspire S7-391 is the first such machine we've seen in production form.

Astonishing: The thinnest and sexiest ultrabook we've seen is a touch-screen showpiece for Windows 8, as speedy as it is convenient and a sure-fire hit for the executive suite. But it's not cheap, and battery life could be better.
Pros:
- Vanishingly thin and light
- 10-point touch screen with wobble-free hinge
- Sharp 1080p display
- Swift performance
Cons:
- Premium price
- Shallow
- quirky keyboard
- Lackluster battery life

Priced at roughly AED 6500, the Aspire S7 should be on the top of your list if you are looking into getting a Windows Phone 8 based laptop. It is also available in 11" form factor and looks equally impressive.

Impressive ultrabook, nearly perfect
I've been waiting for a thin, light windows subnotebook that was powerful enough to run modern software. My needs were: small footprint, light weight, >WXGA+ screen, intel core processor, backlit keyboard, USB 3.0.

Acer Aspire S7-391 review
We've been a bit critical of Windows 8 on notebooks here at ITProPortal, even if it does make a lot more sense on a crossover tablet device like the Acer Iconia W700 . The Acer Aspire S7-391 sits somewhere in between.
Pros:
- Decent performance
- Unique white Gorilla Glass finish
- Full HD touchscreen
Cons:
- Expensive
- Slightly below average battery life

Acer Aspire S7
The Acer Aspire S7 11.6" is easy on the eyes both in terms of visual appeal and the sharp IPS full HD display. It looks and feels like a luxury notebook, with a hint of James Bond since it's so small and sleek.
Pros:
- Elegant design, supremely thin and light
- Excellent full HD touch screen
Cons:
- Short battery life
