Acer Aspire E1-510P (2014) Review

3.5
Verdict: As the average selling price of notebooks keeps dropping--it's now less than $500--once-premium features such as touch screens are becoming standard. Case in point: the Acer Aspire E1-510P-2671.

Review Acer Aspire E1-510P-2671 Notebook

3.6
Pros: slim build with tight tolerances, good battery life, keyboard offers decent feedback, numeric keypad, integrated optical drive, The slim and fairly attractive design and the long battery life
Cons: display very dim, out-of-the-box display colors leave to be desired, location of ports not ideal, single USB 3.0 port, touchpad can be finicky, A brighter screen is on top of our list; non-glare would also be nice
Verdict: A decent-looking 15.6-inch touchscreen notebook with basic hardware and good battery life courtesy of a frugal quad-core SoC - this is how one could sum up the Aspire E1-510P-2671. How the notebook fares as a daily companion is the subject of our review.

Pros: Terrific price, Longish battery life
Cons: Flaky keyboard will drive you bonkers, Heavy and dowdy, Too few USB ports
Verdict: You can't beat the price of this 15.6-inch touch-screen laptop, but it comes with considerable baggage. Its keyboard and performance are particularly disappointing.

Acer Aspire E1-510P-2671

4.0
Pros: Touch screen. Solid construction. Relatively large 500GB hard drive. Long-lasting battery
Cons: Bland design. Middle-of-the-road processing power. Lower-resolution display
Verdict: For the budget-conscious shopper for whom laptops with all the latest bells and whistles may be too expensive, a functional system can be had for much less, with premium features trickling down after a few months.

Verdict: When I received the PC, it looked and felt like new. Excellent price, Hard Drive Size, Operating System and Software. My only disappointment was the Processor Speed, it is a little slow - boggs down during searches and selections.

Acer Aspire E1-510 15.6" laptop

5.0
Verdict: I was a bit dubious about ordering a laptop online but its arrived safe & well packaged. Coming from windows xp to 8.1 is bit of a shocker but ive soon got the hang of it & quite like the app style function.

"A great laptop"

3.0
Pros: Fast, Affordable, Functional
Cons: Lack of preinstalled software, non-premium build, low video dedicated RAM
Verdict: I bought this wanting a laptop that would provide me with an affordable, fast and fluid way to carry out basic computing tasks that a student today would require. For example, accessing the internet, creating word documents or powerpoint presentations or excel spreadsheets, watching videos or using...

Value Value Value

4.0
Verdict: Pro: -Value. $298 is rock bottom price. Con: -No DVD drive. con if someone need it. not me. -Memory slot only 1 (4GB installed at factory) so if someone want to make 8GB, need to remove 4GB then add 8GB memory module. 4GB is ok for me. -Name brand if you care the tag. No regret.

BEWARE - only 1 memory slot enabled

3.0
Pros: decent laptop for my wife to surf the net, email, and do office productivity
Cons: comes with only 4 gigs of RAM. I bought a second 4 gig module to install and although a second memory slot clearly exists in the PCB of the Mobo, it is NOT enabled. To save 5 cents Acer did not install the plastic holder piece or clips for a second memory module - ridiculous! - BIG FAIL!
Verdict: Windows 8 is junk - just eye candy for the IPad/smart phone generation. I put this more on MS than the PC manufacturers. Unfortunately, there are no drivers available for a Windows 7 downgrade on this laptop.
