It is heavy, but it does what it is supposed to do. If you are looking for power backup with time to spare then this is the unit to get.

i regret ordering this from Newegg

Newegg sent a box that had a big pretty label that said SMT1000 on it. What is in the box was a SMT1000TW. After carefully looking I found SMT1000TW on the the box in black on cardboard. Don't buy this unless you are taking it to Taiwan.

SMT 1000 for home office

I upgraded from my old UPS to a smart UPS model SMT1000. I was extremely happy with my previous APC UPSs and I am equally happy with the new hardware. The replacement program allowed me to recycle my old UPS and get a discount on the new UPS.

It was great that I ordered this product, because a couple of days after I installed the product, the Florida weather changed to lighting in the afternoons. The APC Smart-UPS 1000VA LCD 120V saved my old computers ... :) Kudos .... Thanks.

Excellent Product!

I bought this product as a replacement for an old unit. The older unit was a Back-Ups 300. Much less power and very old. I thought it was the time to bite the bullet and get a larger unit. Working in IT I knew that the Smart-Ups products were the nuts.
