AMD FX-8350 Unlocked "Vishera" Octal Core CPU Review
During the 15th century, a major part of the world's economic growth came from cross-continent merchant shipping. It was an arduous journey fraught with uncertainty and it took a lot of planning, as well as preparation, before the captain even set foot on the docks before the ship could sail.
Pros:
- Excellent Price
- Improved "Piledriver" Cores
- AMD Turbo Core 3.0
- Improved latencies compared to FX-8150
- 4GHz out of the box (4.2GHz with Turbo Core
- Unlocked
- 5+GHz Overclockable
Cons:
- Power consumption and temperatures have been improved but still high

AMD Vishera FX8350 Piledriver Review
We think it's fair to say that the Bulldozer FX8150 was one of the biggest disappointments we've experienced here at OC3D. Most of us cut our teeth on AMD processors, and we had high hopes that the 8 core behemoth would finally bring AMD back in line with Intel.

AMD Vishera - FX 8350 Performance Review
Introduction AMD is adopting a yearly(ish) cadence for product cycle refreshes, and as such we now have a new line of AMD FX processors. The new processors are codenamed Vishera and feature four Piledriver architecture modules; no graphics cores found here - this is a CPU, not an APU.

Piledriver writ large. AMD FX-8350 reviewed
Vishera is exactly what AMD promised it would be: a 10-15% performance increase over the previous generation by almost every measure (except the all-important price!). It's better than Bulldozer in every way, and it's cheaper. The price is really what makes Vishera compelling.

AMD FX-8350 Vishera 8-Core CPU Review
Even before AMD officially released its Bulldozer-based FX-Series of desktop processors last year, the company was already talking about the follow-on microarchitecture codenamed "Piledriver".
Pros:
- Good Performance
- Decent Overclocker
- Improved Efficiency
- Easy Upgrade For Existing AMD Owners
Cons:
- Dated Platform
- Intel CPUs Still Clearly Faster

AMD Vishera FX-8350
When Bulldozer was released a year ago, it had a problem that was almost bigger than the single threaded performance and that was broken expectations. After five or so years of delays and hearing about the forthcoming new architecture from AMD, reviewers everywhere put the likes of SuperPi to it and...
Pros:
- Increased per thread performance
- Higher base frequency at same TDP
- Higher overclocking
- Eight cores
- More performance/lower price
- Increased multi threaded performance
Cons:
- Single threaded performance still not on par with competition

AMD FX-8350, Piledriver Vishera Review
Today, AMD has completed the transition of their entire line of CPUs/APUs to the Piledriver design with the release of the Vishera, the mainstream/performance FX series CPU. How much performance can we expect from Vishera over Bulldozer? Let's find out.

AMD Piledriver FX-8350 Review
AMD have certainly raised the game with the revised version of Bulldozer, known now as Piledriver. However, we have not seen the quoted 'up to 23%' improvement which AMD said there should be. Obviously, that is in an ideal world it may be that big of a difference between the two CPUs.
Pros:
- + Definite clock for clock improvement over Bulldozer
- + Increased clock speeds whilst keeping the same TDP
- + Competes against the Intel Core i5 3570K in lots of tasks
- + Good performance for the money
