3M EM500GPS Ergonomic Mouse review Review

It looks more like a joystick than a mouse, but the 3M EM500GPS Ergonomic Mouse offers a comfortable alternative to standard mice. While it'll require some adaptation, the payoff is a more comfortable mousing experience, reducing potential repetitive stress injuries

Design reduces forearm twisting; Available in two sizes; Inexpensive; Includes PS/2 adaptor

Buttons not programmable; No left-handed version available

A Nice Surprise

I didn't know what to expect from this design, but I'm pleasantly surprised.

Comfortable; base acts as a hand rest; uses thumb instead of index finger

Not wireless; no scroll wheel or slider

Perfect for and emergency.

Its a life saver for when in pain and have to complete a design but it after a few days it just transfers the pain to somewhere else. Better to stop for a week (if possible) and/or get a normal symmetrical mouse and draw with your left hand.

Great mouse except base too hard

I like the mouse. The base, where you hand / wrist rests is VERY hard, to the point of causing me pain within the first few hours of use. I have had to fashion a soft rest to reduce the pressure.

It's ok, but

This thing could be great with a few changes. 1) driver. let it run simple w/o a driver, but give us a driver if we want to recalibrate the motion. 2) It wouldn't be easy to mfgr, but how about the stick tilt being a little adjustable.

Top 'rocker' button is quite nice; Comfortable hold

No driver, which is great for simplicity, but you can't calibrate this thing; If I used it for a year perhaps I'd retrain myself, but next to a standard keyboard you either have to hold your elbow up to mouse straight, or mouse off to the right a bit.

Excellent for hand problems

Since I suffer from arthritis, I have been seeking a mouse that is comfortable to my hand, yet still easy to use and functional. This is it! I am very pleased with the way this mouse fits my hand - being able to order two different sizes makes a big difference.
