Great buy

Good solid pair of phones for under $100. Sound great, with decent bass. For me these are all I needed. I watched a bunch of you-tube video's on headphones and came away thinking that the reviewers wanted to appear as DJ audiophiles.

The Shure SRH550DJ headset is a great entry-level set of headphones for aspiring mix masters and audiophiles alike. They look great and deliver a decent sound for the price but they tend to work better with bass heavy riffage.
Pros:
  • Shure trade on the fact that musicians love their mics while DJs adore their headphones
  • So, it's no surprise these are made with the professional in mind
  • Build quality is top-notch with the hinges being nice and tight.
Cons:
  • Rather than sitting over your ears, the SRH550DJ pretty much just perch on top of them, so excluding external noise can be a bit of a chore
  • The headstrap is shallow but wide, which kind of ruins the sleek look you're after on anything but the most fresh-faced of heads.

VERY GOOD CLARITY

Shure SRH550DJ DJ Headphones Have had these Shure SRH 550DJ headphones for four weeks. My listening is mainly Classical and Jazz and they are perfect for these genres. I was initially put off by the DJ thing (something to do with the fact you can swivel the earpieces round), but as it turns out,...

Shure SRH550DJ review

Shure's SRH550DJ headphones have swivelling cups that make them easier to move away from your ear if you wish to monitor outside sounds. As the name suggests, it's a nice feature for bedroom DJs, and one that adds comfort and flexibility for everyone else.
