Verdict: Samsung's latest budget device, Galaxy Ace captures the imagination of the budget smartphone users and iPhone craver's. Packing in all the essentials at a price that is hard to find, the Korean giant has once again proved why it is touted as the world's largest consumer electronics company.

I don't recommend this phone.

3.2
Pros: Good camera, okay for everyday usage
Cons: Bad for internet, terribly slow, glitchy, laggy and a real pain to own
Verdict: A slow, low quality handset incapable of doing what most phones can do. It's features are average at best and half of them don't even work. A ridiculous 1.9GB memory that I filled within a month. Bad for gaming and social networking.

Samsung Galaxy Ace Review

Verdict: The Samsung Galaxy Ace comes hot on the heels of the sock-evaporating, super stunning Samsung Galaxy S2. However with a different shape and decidedly down-sized specs, it's clearly not for the same type of audience. Is it worth a look with the HTC Wildfire S around the corner? Let's find out.

Review: Samsung Galaxy Ace

Verdict: While the Samsung Galaxy Ace is certainly a new phone, it is definitely trying not to be the most powerful smartphone on the market. Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830

Pros: Feels more premium than the Gio due to the larger size and display real estate, good snapper that has a flash, Android Gingerbread powered, hot-swoppable memory card slot
Cons: Processor matches Gio's speed but scores lower on benchmark test, no HD-ready video recording, display is a fingerprint magnet and prone to showing reflections when used in direct sunlight
Verdict: Tweet Samsung is the world's biggest smartphone maker , in no small part due to its successful range of Android-powered Galaxy smartphones . Pros: Lightweight, compact form, runs on Android Gingerbread, costs under £100
Cons: Touch-screen is nothing to write home about, processor is often sluggish, low-res display
Verdict: It's all too easy to lose sight of the fact that a phone's primary function is to make calls and send texts, with features like web access and apps an added bonus. So you should probably ask yourself, what do I really want from a new phone?

Pros: Great looking design, generous screen size, external speaker performance
Cons: Limited multimedia performance, low resolution video capture is behind the times
Verdict: The Samsung Galaxy Ace doesn't really step out of its remit as a budget smartphone.
